Girl on the Tracks

I can't stop editing today!  I initially overlooked a few of these pics and worked on the standouts I posted earlier, but after going back over them I've decided I like them.  She may not be smiling, but honestly nobody smiles all the time.  And these "looks" are so her, that they're definitely keepers!

I posted a different version of this one earlier, but I re-edited it to go with this set.

This is a close crop of the same picture that I'm obsessed with.  I shared a black and white version on my Facebook page earlier today, and I honestly can't stop editing this one.  I don't know what it is about this expression that grabs me, but I'm hooked!

I'm so glad I went back over these photos.  I also can't wait to take the other kiddo over to the tracks for a similar shoot.  I feel a collage coming on!

Foggy Morning

We woke up this morning to fog!  My favorite kind of morning, hazy and cool with a warm cup of coffee in my hands.  I wish I could have packed my gear and gone for a walk or driven to the park first thing, but I had to get a kiddo on the bus before I could worry about pictures.

We still took advantage of the cooler quiet morning to snap a few shots on the railroad tracks.  There was a little bit of fog left when we finally did get out, but it was nothing compared to what it was about an hour before.

I think this one is my favorite because partially because it's the only one I could get of her actually looking at the camera, but also because her eyes look so striking to me.  She had a very serious expression going.

It took a few tries, but I finally managed to get her to crack a smile.  It didn't last long though.

This last one I snapped when we got back home.  I posted a picture on my Facebook page the other day of the spider web on our mailbox.  That web was destroyed (that's what happens when you show a spider web to a 5 year old), but apparently the spider wasn't deterred, because this new web was there this morning.  I am not sure if the water droplets are from the dew or the fog, but either way it's beautiful!

Just a Girl on a Swing

Yesterday's photo shoot were from a quick trip to the park after a long walk around our neighborhood after dinner last night.  I was hoping for some sunset shots or at the very least some golden hour shooting, but the sky was overcast and cool.

Nevertheless, I was still able to capture these shots, and our short time at the park was worth it!  The first picture was inspired by a photo I came across on Pinterest, and although I searched forever trying to find it again last night, I couldn't.

The rest of the shots are just this girl being herself on the swing.  I love her expressions and the wild hair thanks to the movement of the swing.

Nature at the Park

Yesterday's photo shoot at the park wasn't all about a little pig-tailed cutie pie.  In between shots of her, I was able to snap a few nature shots as well.  I love being able to do this, and I don't care if I shoot weeds or flowers as long as they look nice!

Morning At the Park

Today's photo shoot was at a large local park.  The mid-morning sun was bright, but we worked with it!

I don't normally like shadow photography, but when I saw how excited she got watching her shadow move down the path with us, I had to snap this one.

I think I saved the best for last.  This was my favorite from the shoot.  She was mid laugh and just looks so happy!
