Puppy Love

Today was an absolutely beautiful day to get outside and snap some photos.  We even brought the dog along for some extra fun!  While the pooch was sniffing around every tree on the path, I took the opportunity for some solo snapshots of Ali.  Scroll down for the ones with both of them!

I promise no dogs were harmed during today's photo shoot!

Whether we were looking up or looking down, there was an awesome view today.  The sun was shining, and leaves were falling.  It was warm, but a slight breeze was still rustling the trees in the woods, and the colors of fall are really starting to show up now.  I just cannot express how much I love this time of year!

Sisters

The beautiful fall colors might not be in full swing yet, but these beautiful girls sure make up for it!  I had so much fun hiking through a nature park with them last weekend for this fun photo shoot!  I'm looking forward to going back with them when more of the leaves are on the ground instead of still in the trees!

Here's a look at some of my favorites from the photo shoot.  A link to the full collection is at the bottom of the page.

By the House in the Woods

I think sometimes I find beauty in the strangest of places.  In little things.  Things people normally wouldn't stop to photograph.  Things that don't really stand out, but should.  A small detail.  Something that makes you stop and think.  Those are my favorite type of photos.  And these photos fall into that category for me.

The Vintage Dress

Short post today.  Only four photos to share.  We spent a little time playing outside after dinner last night.  I wasn't going to get the camera out, but when I saw that we already had leaves turning colors I had to run in and get it!  I am unbelievably excited about fall pictures!  The colors are always amazing.

This vintage dress was a gift from her Mimi, and she loves it!  She'd wear a dress or a skirt every day (she definitely doesn't get that from me).  Her hair was wild and her cheeks are flushed from playing, but she is one beautiful girl!

Rock the Frock

Last week I had a blast spending time with a friend and fellow photog from Christina Benge Photography. She gave me the idea for this "trash the dress" session, and I have a feeling this will be just the first of many!

The Grounds of French Lick and West Baden Springs Resort

We just returned from an amazing weekend getaway with family.  I was thoroughly impressed with my first trip to the historic French Lick and West Baden Springs area.  For a photographer who likes taking pictures of just about everything, I was in camera heaven!  This post is pretty image heavy, but I had so many favorites images from the beautiful grounds and architecture of these two amazing resorts.

Whether you were in the hallway or the stairwell, or anywhere in this hotel it was an impressive view!

I didn't notice until I went into post processing on this next photo, but take a look at the top row of windows and see if you notice.  There was a wedding at the resort on Saturday evening, and I'm pretty sure I know now which room was the bride's!

The large front porches of the French Lick Springs Resort were filled with these rocking chairs, and they even had small ones for the kids too!

This was a sitting area in the lobby of the French Lick Springs Resort.

The lobby was full of impressive artwork and huge chandeliers on the ceilings.  There was so much to look at everywhere, especially looking up!

This place was the perfect stop any time of day.  They served Starbuck's coffee so I even got my caffeine fix!

The courtyard and grounds behind the hotel were just as impressive as the front entrance.

Our room was in there somewhere.

Wells, springs, brick walls, and plenty of details on the history of the famous springs are all over the grounds.

West Baden Springs Resort looks massive from the outside, but you can truly feel just how big it is when you step foot inside the giant dome atrium for the first time.

The echo is pretty impressive in this place (especially a toddler's scream!)  These rooms face the atrium and look down over the large atrium.  I'm sure they have an excellent view of the afternoon tea and the harpist playing as well!
